Pineapple Express
When I first saw the previews for Pineapple Express, it didn’t make me want to see it the first day it came out. Although, my boyfriend really enjoyed the preview and insisted that we see it on the first day it opens in theaters. It looked a bit weird, wacky, and weird. Stoner views a murder, stoner goes to drug dealer for help, and in the process of running away from bad guys, they become best friends. If I were to read the script, I’d think it would be dunzo.
I did see the movie the first night it came out in theaters. My boyfriend seriously wanted to see it, I have no clue why since he’s not a stoner, he doesn’t even smoke. Anyway, the movie was interesting, funny, and wacky. What makes it a fun movie to watch (yes, I admit it was a fun movie to watch,) is the characters are just entertaining. From the way they talk, to the way they run, and the way they view the events going on around them. What was more entertaining were the parts where certain characters defied death and pretty much did some out of the blue type of things. White, middle age men who act like they’re black makes the movie more funnier, fight scenes were extremely weird/funny and surprisingly friendship and loyalty was also a big part of the movie.
Overall, the movie was really fun to watch with friends, but I don’t think I’d shell out $9.00 to watch it again! It was nice to see James Franco playing a stoner type of character, way different from his character in Spider Man. One part that really stuck in my head was when that black dude got his foot shot off. DAMN! If you did not see the movie yet, you can’t miss that part…hella funny.
